Roku Remote Control App Help Page
Why is my Roku remote app not finding my device?
⚠ Starting with Roku OS version 14.1 (released in September 2024), the
Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Control by mobile apps > Network access
feature must be set to "Enabled" for a Roku device to receive the commands from this app.

⚠ Please click [Allow] when prompted - Access other devices on your local
network (this can be changed later here: chrome://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Frokurc.com)

Pairing
How do I find my Roku IP address?
Manual Pairing - Reliable
Getting the IP address of your Roku is a breeze! Simply head over to
Settings > Network > About on your Roku device. Once you've got that, click the
"NO ROKU DEVICE FOUND!" sign and enter the IP address you found and press the save button.
Return back by pressing ➡ (right arrow) emoji.
OR
Just gently key in the IP address into your browser's address bar, following this format:
https://rokurc.com/app.php?MyRokuTVIP=(Roku TV IP address) and hit [Enter].
Got multiple TVs at home? Just bookmark each one separately for easy access.
Fast TV Start mode
Enabling Fast TV Start makes your Roku device accessible even when it is off
for a long period of time. Oh, and it also starts faster. To enable it select:
Settings > System > Power > Fast TV Start and and check the box.
Choose Your Remote: Simple (Secure) vs Advanced (Experimental)
You’ve got two flavors of the app to choose from, depending on your mood. The Simple
Version (served over nice, shiny HTTPS) is the old, secure and unlikely to surprise
you. Just note it will ask for permission to “Access other devices on your local
network” so everything can work smoothly. If no permission is given it will
automatically switch to the second version
Then there’s the Advanced Version (running on HTTP !, new), which is a bit more
adventurous—packed with extra features and a touch of “let’s see what happens.”
If you like things safe and predictable, go Simple. If you’re feeling curious and
don’t mind a little chaos, Advanced is waiting for you.

For Makers

— To launch RokuRC quickly when needed from your taskbar (Windows), Dock (macOS), or home screen (Android/iOS) conveniently, like a native app, run it as a PWA (Progressive Web App) from
here.
