Run RokuRC PL in Chrome

RokuRC PL is a special type of app (IWA) that lets you listen to your Roku TV through your laptop, phone, tablet, or headphones connected to those devices by using Roku's Private Listening (Headphone Mode) feature. It runs safely inside your Chrome browser.

Follow next easy steps to install this app on your Chrome browser.

Step 1 - Enable Chrome Flags

Chrome hides experimental features behind secret switches called flags.

Open these pages one at a time in Chrome:

chrome://flags/#enable-isolated-web-apps

and

chrome://flags/#enable-isolated-web-app-dev-mode

For both pages:

1.    Find the dropdown menu

2.    Change it from Default to Enabled

After enabling both flags:

1.    Click the giant Relaunch button at the bottom

2.    Chrome will restart itself

Step 2 - Download RokuRC PL

Now download bundle from here:

rokurc-pl.swbn

Step 3 - Install the RokuRC PL App

Now visit:

chrome://web-app-internals/

This page looks slightly terrifying. Don’t look down.

Find the section called:

Install IWA from Signed Web Bundle

Then:

1.    Click the button to choose a file

2.    Open folder and select:

rokurc-pl.swbn

3.    Install it

If everything works correctly, Chrome will open the folder where the application resides.

Step 4 - Launch the App

Now go to:

chrome://apps

You should see purple Icon:

RokuRC PL

Click it to launch. Choose Allow for both prompts.
